Job Description
Tasks
- Prepare reports or case histories
- Administrative and office activities
- Appraise clients’ needs or eligibility for specific services
- Assess offenders’ prospects for successful reintegration into the community
- Develop specialized rehabilitation programs
- Perform administrative tasks
- Plan rehabilitation programs with offenders, establishing rules of conduct, goals and objectives
- Implement life skills workshops
- Plan rehabilitation programs with offenders
- Refer offenders to community and social services programs
- Advise and counsel inmates regarding their problems
- Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs
- Interview probationer and parolees regularly to evaluate their progress
- Conduct follow-up assessments
- Evaluate offenders’ progress
- Recommend actions when probation or parole is violated
- Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community
- Housekeeping activities
