Job Description

Tasks

  • Conduct analytical studies of core samples, drill cuttings and rock samples to identify their composition
  • Organize geological, geochemical and geophysical field studies, drilling and geological testing programs
  • Organize seismic, electromagnetic, magnetic, gravimetric, radiometric, radar and other remote sensing programs
  • Develop models and applied software for the analysis and interpretation of data
  • Plan, direct and participate in analyses of geological, geochemical and geophysical survey data, well logs and other test results, maps, notes and cross sections
  • Plan, direct and participate in geological, geochemical and geophysical field studies, drilling and geological testing programs
  • Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
  • Prepare notes, sketches, geological maps and cross sections
  • Perform clerical duties, such as maintain filing and record systems
  • Conduct or direct surveys or survey programs
  • Assist in preparing rock, mineral or metal samples
  • MS Office
  • Supervise the preparation of rock, mineral or metal samples
  • Prepare rock, mineral or metal samples
  • Design measures to minimize undesirable environmental effects of mining and oil and gas operations
